Our Mitigation Banks

Grand River Lowlands -  Completed Summer 2000

We are pleased to announce final regulatory approval and construction of the Grand River Lowlands Wetland Mitigation Bank located in northeast Ohio within the Grand River Watershed. The 94.5 acre site is located on Mayfield Road, State Rt. 322, 0.8 miles west of Orwell Ohio, Ashtabula county. The property was formerly used for agriculture. A significant portion of the water that runs through the site is urban run-off from the nearby village of Orwell. The portion of the Grand River where the site is located was recently designated a Scenic River. Wetland restoration and enhancement has been completed. The site has been developed and will be managed by the Company with oversight from Federal and State regulatory authorities. The bank service area includes the Cuyahoga, Chagrin and Grand River watersheds. The service area may be expanded or reduced on a project specific basis if there are ecologically compelling reasons to do so. The anticipated credit yield is approximately 77 credit acres.

Wetland mitigation credits are available for immediate sale. The company is now in a 5 year biological monitoring phase at the conclusion of which the property shall be donated to the Mt. Pleasant Rod and Gun Club, an Ohio non-profit organization, with a conservation easement maintained in perpetuity by the Grand River Partners, Inc., a group concerned with protecting and improving the Grand River.
